President's Thoughts

Old Fart Pride

I never really liked the terminology "Old Farts"....but this makes me feel better about it and if you ain't one, I bet ya, you know one!

I got this from an "Old Fart" friend of mine!

Think about some of these….we fit the part of many!

I did not want to be the only old fart receiving it. Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called, as you will see.

1. Old Farts are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the National Anthem. Old Farts remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment.  They know the words and believe in them.

2. Old Farts remember World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam.

3. If you bump into an Old Fart on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Fart on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Farts trust strangers and are courtly to women.

4. Old Farts hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.

5. Old Farts get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don' t like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.

6. Old Farts have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grandchildren.

7. It's the Old Farts who know our great country is protected, not by politicians, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country.

This country needs Old Farts with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.

We need them now more than ever.

Thank God for Old Farts!

Help Needed: Vehicle for Sale

I've been in touch with a gentleman who is looking to sell his vehicle but needs some assistance. Although he didn't mention a specific price, he's open to suggestions. The car runs, and he's even installing a hitch so it can be towed if necessary. He's in good spirits and just needs to get it sold.

If anyone can lend a hand or knows someone interested, please reach out. We're also looking to post some pictures and a brief write-up to help spread the word. Let’s work together to help him find the right buyer.

Feel free to get in touch with me if you’d like to know more or assist in any way. Once I’m feeling better, I’ll gladly coordinate further.

Last Month's Events

The August Club Luncheon was at Haymakers here in Goodyear

It was not a surprise that attendance was down a bit for August's Club Luncheon. Many members travel this time of year and the heat also makes it a little more challenging for these events. No worries, things are bound to pick up as the weather cools so we'll see you at the next luncheon.

The following are a snapshot of the
action at August's Cars & Coffee

Last Month's Award Winners

August Update: A Quiet Month

August was a quiet month for our community, with no notifications of members attending car shows or earning any awards. As the weather cools down and car show season ramps up again, we’re excited to see what’s in store. If you attend any shows and earn awards, be sure to let us know! It's always a pleasure to celebrate and share your achievements with everyone. Looking forward to seeing those trophies roll in!

Upcoming Events

Upcoming activities on our monthly docket are great. Make sure to thank Jodan our event chairman as well Jim Leader & Douglas Bryson for the event arrangements, with their successful great follow up. Looking forward to seeing you once again at our next event.
