Mom and Dad’s Driver

“Some talk about the scent of a new car, yet I prefer the mildewed smell of my parents’ White 58 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible”. As a young teen in the 60’s, when allowed, I’d take the car to the shopping center to cruise where I worked sweeping floors at a flower shop. The interior took on notes of sweat, aroma of mixed flower arrangements plus the stage smells from all the stem cuttings crushed under my shoes. I saw it for the first time at age 12 and thought it was the biggest, most awesome thing in the world. Then I saw my dad’s beauty for the first time again, through a different pair of eyes after moving away, getting married and having vehicles of my own. Still, when I visited my parents 10 years later, dad let me take that car for a spin, the pressure of the gas pedal under my foot, like shaking the hand of an old friend. Every time I think about it now, a tear comes to my eye.

Cruiz'n to the Hills Car Show

Rev up your engines! The buzz surrounding our upcoming event is off the charts! With nearly 100 cars already pre-registered we're gearing up for a spectacular turnout. And guess what? From our past experience, we might just hit 175 to 200 for the show!
